New York Premiere of Hot New Comedy About High School

New York City - Friday July 22, 2005 -  The comedy , High School Ripped Me a New One will premiere at the ArtsIndia, 206 5th Ave. (between 25th and 26th).  8pm. 

The afterparty at The Gallery- At the Gershwin Hotel 7 east 27th St.(between Madison and 5th Ave.) at 10pm.

This is the premiere and afterparty for the new breakout independent comedy by San Franciscan independent filmmaker Cameron Washington, "High School Ripped Me a New One".  The film was a hit at its world premiere in San Francisco June 9th at the Black Film Festival and will now make its New York premiere at the ArtsIndia, 206 5th Ave. (between 25th and 26th) at 8pm on July 22nd.   There will be a small reception at 7:30 to 8pm.

This hilarious comedy is about two high school outcasts who stumble upon a bag full of cash and opt to keep it believing it’s the answer to getting dates for the prom.  When the true owners of the mysterious stash, (local mobsters) discover who has their bag of money things take a turn for the worst. The boys now have cops, crooks, and mobsters on their tail, all who won’t stop at anything until they get their hands on that cash! 

One unique factor about the film is the incorporation of Jazz used in the soundtrack, tying in the story line.  Cameron Washington was also be on air talking about the film on Sunday July 17th   6:15am to 7:00am  on CD 101.9 FM.

The after-party will feature live musical performances by a few of the artists on the soundtrack, The Point Six and OrdinaryK.
